Having served for many years in a government agency in my native country, I took a break to do a Ph.D. program in America. For some reason, after I was done, I could not return to my job back home, and I chose to stay back with my family in the United States. Down the line, I picked up an adjunct-type academic appointment in a university. The upside of the job was that it allowed me extra time to try several digital and non-digital activities. However, most of these efforts became drainpipes. Again, even though some of these endeavors involved long periods of preparation for licenses and/or certification, the zeal to pursue them gradually whittled because they took more than they gave. When I stumbled upon this opportunity it looked different from what I was used to, and I decided to give it a try. Technically, it was like eating your cake and not just having it but multiplying it exponentially. Having the choice to create your own world and the autonomy that that opportunity portends is mind blowing. WELCOME ABOARD!
